Meet the Team
Gillian Gibbons - Head of PR, Print and Production
Gill Gibbons
When I tell people that I work in PR, their reaction tends to fall into two camps, those that nod sagely but obviously have no idea what I do, or those that gleefully announce ‘oh you're one of those spin doctors who spends all day in fancy restaurants'!
The reality is that I spend lots of time talking to lots of wonderful and fascinating women who run their own businesses and franchising! Much more rewarding than fancy restaurants I assure you!
I spent 15 years working for Global corporations before setting up Wychwood Communications but now I'm really excited about joining forces with the rest of the MIC team.
The reason for this excitement is being able to work with like-minded people who believe that it really is possible to balance spending time with children with running a successful, fulfilling business! I spent many years missing sports day or the Christmas pantomime before realising that my children wouldn't be children forever but that spending time with them whilst they are at school didn't mean sacrificing my dream of running my own business. If anything in the end it was the driver behind taking the plunge! Now I can stand with the other mums beaming with pride at my children's achievements on the sports field and stage, and catch up on work in the evening when they are in bed! I don't watch much television and I'm totally lost when the subject of Big Brother or X-Factor comes up but hey my children are worth it!
But it's not all work and no play! When not spending time with my family - husband Allen and children James and Emma (10 and six), I love nothing more than having friends round to dinner and sending them away well feed and ‘watered'. I also ski and like to keep fit - I ran the New York marathon in 2004 to celebrate turning 40 and the plan is to train for a triathlon to celebrate turning 50 (although that’s a little way off yet!)
